EPS, also known by the brand name Styropor®, combines several advantages: It is very light because it contains 98 percent air, it is extremely pressure-resistant and absorbs almost no water. Due to its low thermal conductivity, it protects temperature-sensitive products particularly well. EPS is preferred in applications where the separation between cold and warm is important – for example in insulation, packaging or the thermal insulation of buildings.
