Polyamides (PA for short) are characterized above all by their great resistance: They are very dimensionally stable, tear and abrasion resistant and waterproof. They are also elastic and stretchable, as well as highly glossy. In the packaging sector, polyamide is used to produce films, which are primarily used for vacuum packaging of cheese, sausages or frozen goods, for example. Since polyamides are waterproof and dry very quickly, they are also used in clothing. Polyamide is also used extensively in vehicle construction, for example for lamp housings, fuel lines or gas and clutch pedals.
