Home / glossary / rubber

Rubber is a collective term for elastic polymers from which rubber is made. Synthetic rubbers, which today cover more than half of the global demand, come in many varieties. Between 55% and 60% of all rubber today goes into the production of car tires. However, a car can only run because rubber components, for example, seal doors and windows, cushion the engine, keep the radiator water flexible in the cooling circuit, wipe the windows, insulate sound and do much more reliably and invisibly.
